Interview with Gemma Garcia Lopez

1. Tell us about yourself and your background.

I am an international researcher. I started my PhD in Madrid and I moved to Silicon Valley to continue at Stanford University.

SEO and content creation has been the epicenter of my professional career. I have worked developing SEO content strategies for different companies in Spain, and now, I am focused on my PhD.

2.  What have you been working on recently?

At this moment I am focused on developing and finishing my PhD, of which I will present a patent with the results. My goal is to create a method that, using techno-

3. Where are we now today in terms of the state of IoT, and where do you think we’ll go over the next five years?

Our level of connection today is greater than we think. However, thanks to the development of AI and the progress of loT, soon we will be in a higher stage. The devices and that great network that we call loT, will be part of all our daily processes and will help us to be more productive, professionally and possibly, personally. We will have the smartest television, the safest car and personal assistants connected with all our information to offer us the best answers. But we must not forget that the human is the nucleus and motor of all these changes.

5. Which company do you think is winning the global IoT race?

There are many but for example, IMB offers solutions for different sectors, is a good option.

6. What are some of the best takeaways that the attendees can have from your talk?

That emotions are a powerful way to get to know people and therefore, to understand what feelings are behind reviews, tweets, content, expressions ... of customers. Knowing this, companies will be able to empathize more with the consumer and improve the relationship between the company and the client.
