David Lucatch is the CEO, President & Chair of Liquid Avatar Technologies Inc. David is a blockchain and marketing technology visionary, leading Liquid Avatar Technologies’ in its mission to empower individuals to manage, control, and create value from their identity and related personal data. David has 35+ years of experience in the international marketing arena and almost 25 years of that developing online business concepts and technologies and taking them to private, public and commercial markets. Before founding Liquid Avatar Technologies, David led a storied career as an early Internet champion, adopter and investor. In the late 1990s, he led a first mover online payment gateway initiative for the Canadian banking industry as well as one of the first online marketing and eCommerce programs on behalf of the Canadian Olympic Hockey team, supporting the NHL and its players as professionals first entered the Olympics. In the 2000s he created one of the first technology incubators in Canada, which financed, created, supported and led to a number of successful projects globally in the online industry involving various sectors, ranging from artificial intelligence, mobile video, and language technology to innovative and industry leading mobile marketing and eCommerce. Heading into the 2010s, David and his team worked on digital engagement projects for some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Disney Animation, Marvel Studios, Lucas Films, FOX, Dreamworks, Steven Spielberg, and IMDB. This also included the formation of Catch Star Studios in 2016, creating programming for the New York Yankees Yes Network, which ultimately led to a NY Emmy nomination as an Executive Producer for special programming. Here, David developed a new interactive engagement platform for online and mobile videos on behalf of professional sports teams and entertainment companies to increase their user engagement and eCommerce activities which helped support programs like the launch of Steph Curry’s Under Armor shoes. David also led a team that was awarded a Guinness World Record in the online space. Throughout his business career, he has been an active supporter of numerous organizations and has been recognized and awarded internationally for his service and community support activities. These have included projects to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network, D.A.R.E. America, Reach for the Rainbow, Ovarian Cancer, and others. He also remains a mentor in the North American online, technology, business, and education community. David is a contributing writer and featured event, conference, and podcast speaker, being a member of the Forbes Business Council, The Rolling Stone Culture Council, and the Cointelegraph Innovation Circle. He has written, presented and chatted extensively about digital identity, the metaverse, web 3.0, and more. David graduated in 1985 with a degree in Commerce and Economics from the University of Toronto, Canada. In 2010 he was a recipient of an Arbor Award in recognition of his continued activities and contributions to his alma mater. He also served as an inaugural member of the Ontario Securities Commission SME Committee.
