Profile

As a program manager, clinical pharmacologist, and researcher, Venky’s work at PCCI from the Institute for Research in Biomedicine, University of Lleida, Spain. He has published extensively in varied research focus areas of pharmacy, molecular biology, and epidemiology and is a lifetime member of Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India, Indian Pharmaceutical encompasses population health and community-based initiatives, clinical research (including studies focused on medication management), and data analytics. He currently serves as research manager for the National Institute of Health’s largest Pragmatic Clinical Trial for Chronic Kidney Disease (ICD- Pieces) and National Institute of Aging’s Pragmatic clinical trial for Preventing Cognitive Decline by Reducing BP Target (PCOT) to improve health outcomes. He also serves as PCCI’s IRB research manager to ensure, through active collaboration with the Office of Human Research Protection - UT Southwestern Medical Center, PCCI adherence to all research protocols. He served as research data analyst and liaison for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Accountable Health Communities (AHC) Program. Most recently, in 2022, he coauthored Outcome evaluation of the 5 year AHC program in New England Journal of Medicine Catalyst. He also contributed to Building Connected Communities of Care: The Playbook for Streamlining Effective Coordination Between Medical and Community-Based Organizations. As a licensed clinical pharmacist, Venky received both a Bachelor and Master of Pharmacy in India and a Ph.D in Health. He is a life time member of Pharmacy Council of India, and Tamil Nadu State Pharmacy Council. Venky is a devoted family man and loves to be around people. He is multilingual (English, Tamil and Hindi). As a ‘foodie’ and passionate cook, he enjoys trying new recipes, cooking for friends and family, and tasting vegetarian cuisines of the world.
