Real-Time Online Learning in a Marketing Context

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence capabilities are no longer a nice to have, rather a requirement for advertisers and media owners seeking to provide consistently relevant, personalized advertising and content experiences across channels. But not all AI can transform marketing the way we want it to.
In this technical session, I will discuss what powers online learning, the most advanced marketing AI in production today. I will also share real-world client examples that demonstrate how marketers are using it to respond to real-time shifts in consumer behavior.

Devin Jones is Vice President, Machine Learning Engineering at Nielsen Marketing Cloud (NMC), where he leads a team of engineers. The team conducts research into artificial intelligence solutions as well as engineers batch and streaming machine learning systems to support the NMC data science business model. Prior to NMC, Devin was Manager, Advanced Analytics at Starcom MediaVest Group until 2014 and Product Manager at PCG Digital Marketing until 2012. Devin has a bachelor's degree in mathematical statistics, economics, & operations research from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey - New Brunswick as well as a master's degree in computer science (machine learning) from Columbia University.
