Abstract

Executives are inundated with the daily buzz surrounding big data and artificial intelligence, and its promise to transform how they do business. As the digital economy deepens its roots in these growing fields, investments in infrastructure, technology and human talent are inevitable. This session will cover how to: breakdown complex concepts to engage your executives, demonstrate the business value of your solutions, and maintain a successful strategy using an agile data mining process (i.e.,CRISP-DM).

Profile

Tim Long is the Director of Enterprise Data Science at Micron Technology, Inc., a global, Fortune 200 leader in delivering advanced memory and storage solutions. Tim partners with leadership across the enterprise to identify and capitalize on opportunities where data science and machine learning can deliver a strategic advantage, including projects such as statistical demand forecasting, optimization of raw material inventories, and several other predictive models that improve planning and execution in supply chain processes. Prior to leading the Enterprise Data Science team, Tim led Micron’s Workforce Analytics team in developing predictive hiring and attrition models for its global workforce. Tim holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming (2001) and an MS in Business Analytics from NYU Stern (2014).
