Abstract

Effective utilization of GPS during a rehab period can positively impact the speed and quality of player return to play. The key factors for effective utilization of GPS include; identifying injury specific metrics and planning the progressions of each metric. Nick will demonstrate how to plan a rehab period and the factors involved in the determining the loading periodization.

Profile

Nick is the Director of High Performance with the Seattle Reign FC. His role is to manage the medical & sport science departments. Nick’s background is in physical therapy and strength & conditioning with experience working in professional men’s soccer in Australia. Nick’s specialty is intensive 1:1 rehab periods with elite footballers to achieve early and accelerated return to play. His football rehab method combines physiotherapy, strength & conditioning and on pitch football rehab. Nick worked previously as a physiotherapist at Melbourne City FC in the Australian A-League from 2012-2016. Nick’s role focused primarily on player rehab and return to play.
