Deep Learning for Developmental Robotics

This talk discusses the goal of creating a robot that will go through developmental stages as it seeks out interesting aspects of the environment. This is the new field of Developmental Robotics. I will give an overview of the field and discuss challenges.

Doug Blank is an associate professor of computer science at Bryn Mawr College, an all-women’s college outside of Philadelphia. His research focuses on combining artificial neural networks and robotics in order to give robots self-motivation.
