DoorDash has introduced AI tools to accelerate merchant onboarding and enhance dish photos automatically. Posted on : May 04 - 2026
DoorDash on Monday introduced a suite of AI-powered tools aimed at helping merchants launch faster and market more effectively.
A new onboarding feature allows merchants to create app listings by simply linking their existing website. The tool automatically pulls in details such as menu items, store hours, and photos, then generates a draft listing that merchants can review and edit before it goes live.
The company also upgraded its video library. Merchants can now tag dishes directly within videos, allowing customers to order featured items instantly. The updated library also provides performance insights, including total views, sales driven by videos, and new-customer conversions.
For restaurants, new AI photo tools are designed to improve food imagery. AI Retouch enhances backgrounds, sharpness, and lighting while preserving the dish itself. AI Replate adjusts plating, lighting, and color so meals appear more professionally presented. Merchants can also upload a reference image to apply a specific visual style to existing photos.
According to Brian Tolkin, the goal is to reduce operational friction so merchants can spend more time focusing on food quality and customer experience.
Beyond merchant onboarding and content creation, DoorDash is also expanding its commerce platform. A new website-generation feature lets restaurants automatically build branded websites using existing app content such as menus and photos. In testing, merchants using the feature saw average order conversion rates close to 10%.
The company also launched a marketing campaign builder that helps merchants automate content creation, email outreach, and campaign scheduling.
