Meta introduces Vibes, a fresh feed of bite-sized, AI-made clips. Posted on : Sep 26 - 2025
Meta is rolling out a new short-form video feed called “Vibes” inside the Meta AI app and on meta.ai. The feature lets users create and share AI-generated clips — essentially positioning Vibes as a TikTok or Instagram Reels alternative, but with every video produced by generative AI.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch in an Instagram post showcasing examples: fuzzy cartoonish creatures leaping between cubes, a cat kneading dough, and even an ancient Egyptian woman snapping a selfie against a historical backdrop.
Meta says the Vibes feed will surface AI-generated videos from creators and everyday users, with recommendations becoming personalized over time. Users can generate clips from scratch or remix ones they encounter by adding visuals, music, or style changes. Finished videos can be posted to Vibes, sent in DMs, or cross-shared to Instagram and Facebook Stories and Reels.
For the early version, Meta has partnered with AI image-generation companies Midjourney and Black Forest Labs, while continuing to develop its own models.
The reaction to Zuckerberg’s post was overwhelmingly skeptical. One top comment read: “gang nobody wants this,” while another quipped: “Bro’s posting AI slop on his own app.”
The timing of Vibes is striking. Social platforms are already flooded with low-quality AI content, prompting companies like YouTube to explore stricter rules. Earlier this year, Meta itself urged creators to avoid “unoriginal” content and focus on “authentic storytelling.”
Still, the company is pressing ahead as part of its broader push to reassert itself in the AI race. In June, Meta created Meta Superintelligence Labs after staff departures and reorganized its AI division into four groups focused on foundation models, research, product integration, and infrastructure.
