ChatGPT’s Voice Feature Gets a Major Upgrade

 

OpenAI has enhanced ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice mode, making conversations with the AI sound more natural and expressive. The update, rolled out over the weekend, introduces improvements in tone, cadence, and emotional nuance—enabling more lifelike speech, including better use of pauses, emphasis, empathy, and even sarcasm.

 

The voice feature also now supports continuous language translation. Users can ask ChatGPT to interpret conversations in real time and it will keep translating until instructed otherwise.

 

This upgrade is available to all paid ChatGPT users across platforms and regions. OpenAI notes that while the voice quality has improved, users may still encounter occasional audio issues like pitch fluctuations or odd background noises, and the update does not address known hallucination bugs.
