Profile

Sam Foster is the founder and Managing Partner of Pennant Equity Partners a Private Equity sponsor and business advisory firm where Sam focuses on finding, investing in and building companies that have unique opportunities to grow through innovation and management leadership. In addition to his work at Pennant, Sam has served as a business investor, advisor and operator for over twenty years. He co-founded and became managing director of two venture capital funds: Velocity Equity Partners and Corning Capital Ventures, where he focused broadly on innovations and disruptive technologies often at the intersection of traditional industries and the high-tech industry. Sam’s operational leadership roles include; CEO of AliMed, a middle market manufacturer and distributor of medical products, CEO of Sonexis, an early innovator in the SaaS teleconferencing market, COO of Deerpath Energy, a distributed, renewable energy company, and COO of Valvcon, a start-up industrial controls company. Over the years, Sam has been actively involved in numerous companies through his roles as a board member and management advisor. Some of those organizations include AliMed, Rapid Group (ProtoLabs, Lean Enterprise, Deerpath (SWWP), innoPad (FNS Korea), Sonexis (Compunetix), Centerstone software (Manhattan Software), Ammasso, LingoMotors, Network Engines (Nasdaq:NENG), Active Impulse Systems (Philips Electronics), Surgical Sealants, Terascape (acquired by EMC.) Sam’s activity in the broader community include speaker/moderator at MIMC; NH High Tech Council; board advisor with the Northeastern Center for High-rate Nanomanufacturing; and, board member and former board chair of the Carroll School.
