Anthropic has introduced new tools that help companies understand exactly what they’re getting for their AI spending. Posted on : Oct 30 - 2026
Anthropic’s latest financial results show that its AI coding assistant, Claude Code, is becoming a major business success. The company reportedly achieved an operating profit in Q2, while its net revenue retention reached 900% — meaning existing customers spent nine times more in Q3 2026 than they did in Q3 2025.

To strengthen its position in the enterprise market, Anthropic has introduced new reporting tools that help businesses understand the value they receive from their AI spending.

The new reporting suite allows managers to track team activities over selected periods, see what employees have accomplished, monitor token usage and costs, and identify where AI-powered workflows are struggling. It also provides recommendations for improving productivity and efficiency. Anthropic says this data will not be used to train its models by default. The company is also introducing shared group budgets to help organizations manage AI spending more effectively.

The move addresses a growing concern among businesses: How can companies measure the actual return on investment from AI?

A recent report from Jellyfish, based on 276,000 software developers, found that Claude Code and other Anthropic-powered tools account for nearly one-third of proposed code changes submitted for review. Spending on these AI coding tools has increased tenfold since the beginning of the year, reaching approximately 2% of total engineering costs.

This rapid growth is making businesses rethink how they manage AI budgets. Simply increasing AI adoption is no longer enough; companies need to understand whether the investment is delivering measurable results.

Anthropic's strong enterprise adoption also highlights another important factor: customer retention. Even with growing competition from OpenAI's Codex and newer AI models, many enterprises are reluctant to switch after investing time and resources in building workflows around Claude Code.

For large organizations, changing AI platforms involves more than choosing a different model. It can mean rebuilding workflows, retraining teams, and adapting existing systems.

Anthropic's latest reporting tools are therefore about more than tracking token consumption. They represent a broader effort to help enterprises optimize AI investments, demonstrate business value, and deepen their reliance on Anthropic's ecosystem.

The bigger takeaway: As enterprise AI adoption accelerates, the next competitive advantage may not simply be building better AI models, but proving that every dollar spent on AI delivers measurable business value.
