Cloudflare Launches Kitesurf, the Browser Designed for AI Agents Posted on : Aug 07 - 2026
Cloudflare has entered the AI browser race with Kitesurf, a cloud-hosted browser built specifically for AI agents rather than human users.

Unlike traditional browsers, Kitesurf is optimized for autonomous AI tasks such as navigating websites, filling out forms, extracting HTML, and completing workflows efficiently. It prioritizes context management, scalability, token efficiency, and protection against AI-specific threats like prompt injection attacks.

Built in just 12 weeks on Cloudflare's Workers platform, Kitesurf is available in beta through Browser Run. Cloudflare says it consumes significantly less CPU and memory than Chromium for common AI agent tasks, helping developers reduce infrastructure costs.

Powered by technologies including Blitz, Firefox's Stylo CSS parser, and the Rust-based Boa JS engine, Kitesurf has already passed over 215,000 web platform tests and continues to improve, positioning itself as a lightweight, AI-native browser for the next generation of autonomous web agents.
