Ephraim Suhir received his PhD from Moscow University, Russia, in 1968. He is currently CEO of a SBIR ERS Co. He is also on the faculty of the Portland State University, Portland, OR, USA and Technical University, Vienna, Austria. Dr. Suhir is Foreign Full Member of the National Academy of Engineering, Ukraine, and Fellow of American Physical Society, Institute of Physics (UK), American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society of Optical Engineers (SPIE), Int. Microelectronics and Packaging Society, and Society of Plastics Engineers. He authored and co-authored about 350 publications, presented numerous invited and keynote talks worldwide and received numerous professional awards, including ASME Worcester Warner Read Medal for outstanding contributions to the permanent literature of engineering. He is the third "Russian American", after S. Timoshenko and I. Sikorsky, who received this prestigious award.
