Topic

"The Internet of Things is Wasted on the Young. How Conventional Wisdom Could Kill Your Grandma"

Abstract

The coming tsunami of home and health sensors promises to fundamentally change healthcare and the data flows between patient and doctor. Although the technological challenges between home and health IoT share a lot of similarities, IoT in a healthcare setting may be subject to completely different regulations. In this presentation, Erich presents some of the pitfalls that await the unwary who are thinking of launching the next great home health product, and ways to mitigate the risk. Although much of the hype around IoT are focused on younger people, as part of the presentation, Erich will show how it is the elderly who will gain the most benefit.
