Building an IoT Security Solution: Elements and Challenges

Internet of Things (IoT) has become a hot topic in IT security. A vast majority of network security experts expect an increase in IoT breaches throughout the year: nobody is immune to IoT attacks.  These devices pose a unique security challenge, as they are developed to be cheap, convenient and automatic.  Even though the pervasive nature of IoT devices positions them to spy on us, to blackmail us and even to cause us physical harm, security for them is an afterthought.  Understanding the main components of IoT security and the challenges that they pose will help us build better solutions to keep our devices and our homes safe.
