Deep Learning for Technologists & Executives ….. How do I explain it to my Grandma?

Have you heard about Deep Learning? Of course, if you are attending an AI conference, then you must have. But do you really get it? Would it help to have a quick intro on fundamentals or maybe, a refresher? In this session, Aamer will give a foundational intro to Deep Learning and share tips on how to best get up to speed on the most talked about area in AI 

The session is best suited for technologists, software engineers, product managers and business executives that do not necessarily have an extensive background in data science. No prior experience in AI or Machine Learning required.

Profile :

With over 15 years of experience at MIT, Verizon and Humana, and 10 patents related to analytics and big data, Aamer has been a pioneer in AI, Machine Learning and Big Data space. His latest passion in Deep Learning made him launch the fastest growing AI meet up group in Dallas, TX region.   

At Humana, he established an extensive big data and ML practice, with the implementation of enterprise data lake and variety of data and ML products supporting consumer analytics. These products help generate valuable business insights from wide variety of structured and unstructured data sources including customer claims, demographics, call center notes, web activity, medical records, and purchasing trends. Before Humana, Aamer led the design and development of an efficient big data platform at Verizon that collects and analyzes data from many disparate sources including multiple consumer devices (smart phones, tablets, gaming consoles, set-top boxes, smart TVs, media players, & PCs), enterprise billing and ordering systems, web and app servers, and third party providers. As a researcher at MIT, he built simulation software to evaluate various analytical algorithms for airline revenue management.  

Aamer has a Masters in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), an MBA from Southern Methodist University, and a Masters in Transportation Engineering from MIT.
