Topic

Serving AI to Enterprise

Abstract

What few formally trained machine learning engineers exist have been largely hired by a small handful of leading tech companies. Consequently, in the face of a talent demand/supply gap, most other large enterprises may struggle to extract the vast benefits that machine learning has to offer. This talk discusses this dynamic together with the resulting opportunities that may exist both for established businesses as well startups.

Profile

Peter’s interest in AI was sparked in middle school when he started programming on an old Apple IIc someone threw away. He graduated from Cornell University, with high honors. Peter stayed at Cornell to pursue a Ph.D but dropped out to found his first startup, which focused on ML and DSP. That company was acquired in 2012. The following year, Peter co-founded HyperScience. He speaks a number of languages, which he leverages in both his daily and professional lives. Peter is also a sailor, holds a commercial pilot rating and enjoys writing about himself in the third person.
