Blockchain in Theory and Practice
 

The phenomenon of blockchain can be seen in many lights. From one perspective, the success of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other blockchain based currencies is partly driven by a global trend towards digitization. We are currently living in a world that is partly paper and partly digital but that is changing.  As is described in more length in the book Where Data is Wealth , everything of value – music, motion pictures, news, transactions, social relationships, skills, and money – is steadily being converted into bits and bytes. The challenge is that most organizations and individuals are unprepared for so large a transition. This should make the next few years one of the greatest in our lifetimes to make a fortune or lose one.
