Financial Loan Risk Analysis Using Keras Deep Learning
Abstract
Can we use AI/Deep Learning to predict if a loan will be repaid? Spoiler alert: yes. In this session we'll examine some of the current tools for doing deep-learning. We joke that 80%+ of machine learning is data preparation. This would be a joke except that it is true. After preparing a dataset we'll run a few different techniques to see which provides the best predictive model. Rest assured, if we predict a loan will fail, no cars or homes will be repossessed base on our machine learning algorithms.

Marty Lurie started his computer career generating chads while attempting to write Fortran on an IBM 1130. His day job is Hadoop Systems Engineering at Cloudera, but if pressed he will admit he mostly plays with computers. His favorite program is the one he wrote to connect his Nordic Track to his laptop (the laptop lost two pounds, and lowered its cholesterol by 20%).
