Time For A Change: It Is Not About Artificial Intelligence, But Augmented Intelligence

Abstract

Recent years have seen many new dynamics between human and machine. On the one hand, Artificial Intelligence has time and time again outsmarted humans in many tasks, and for some, the Term AI is synonymous to mass unemployment. On the other hand, the game is not “You | Me” but “You + Me” - we have seen humans and machine works together to make each other better. This can be exemplified by Human-in-the-loop AI where human annotators help enhance machine learning performance, or Augmented Intelligence where machines empower humans to be better at their jobs. In this talk, I will discuss the latest developments in Augmented Intelligence, and use a Real-time Emotion Intelligence Platform as a case study to illustrate how Augmented Intelligence drives real business impact and social good, and is the future of AI.
