Designing Intelligent Conversational Experiences

Conversation is the new interface. Brands and businesses are building conversational experiences. The early examples have been simple and structured, but advanced ones leverage NLP and AI to build advanced dialog capabilities. This presentation will cover the issues involved in designing intelligent conversational experiences.

Beerud is the cofounder and CEO of Gupshup, the world's leading smart messaging platform that enables enterprises to communicate and engage with their customers. It is used by over 30K+ developers and handles over 4 billion messages per month. He previously founded and led Elance (now Upwork), the pioneer of online freelancing and the gig economy. Prior to founding Elance, he worked in the financial services industry – modeling, structuring, and trading fixed income securities and derivatives at Merrill Lynch and Citicorp Securities. His graduate research, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab, involved developing autonomous learning software agents for personalized news filtering. Beerud earned an M.S. in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology & a B.Tech. in Computer Science from IIT Bombay, where he was awarded the Institute Silver Medal. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and holds 2 patents.
