How AI Is Altering the Doctor-Patient Paradigm and the Increasing Responsibility of Data Owners

Abstract

As AI begins to infiltrate healthcare, the general methodology of how a patient is treated will begin to shift. No longer will a patient be treated by the physician alone but they will need to learn how to interact and trust algorithms. A step further, companies will begin (and have been) contacting physicians based upon algorithms analyzing EHR of their patients. This talk will discuss the implications the healthcare industry will have to address as AI becomes more of a reality and whether our system is set up to support this new paradigm.
